Heroes helping heroes retreat

Our mission

After the recent tragic event that happened on February 18, 2024 in Burnsville, MN, Chris Steward (Heroes Helping Heroes) and Dan Anderson (Blue Line Construction & Home Services), saw the need for something more for our first responders. As retired first responders themselves, they understand what many of these families are going through and the issues that first responders face daily on the job and during the retirement process.

While there are so many things that can (and should) be done to help our first responders, what we have decided to focus on is creating a sanctuary - a place where they can find solace, support, and camaraderie amidst the serenity of nature. Our mission is to create a haven where these brave individuals can retreat from the challenges they face daily, to mourn losses, celebrate victories, and rejuvenate their spirits.

At the heart of our mission lies the commitment to build and strengthen connections within our communities, extending beyond the realm of first responders. We strive to bridge the gap and humanize those behind the badge, fostering a shared sense of belonging. Our goal is to create a welcoming space not only for our first responders, but also where inner-city youth can engage with first responders in a positive and constructive environment, enhancing understanding and trust on both sides.  Our retreat will offer ample opportunities for gatherings and shared meals, where bonds are strengthened and stories are shared. Surrounded by the tranquility of the wilderness, we encourage moments of laughter, healing conversations, and the forging of lifelong friendships.

In the end, we aspire to be more than just a retreat; we are a sanctuary, a refuge, and a beacon of support for those who dedicate their lives to the safety and well-being of others. Together, we honor the past, cherish the present, and inspire hope for the future.
